Heterotopic Pancreas on the Body of Stomach




Abstract
Heterotopic pancreas is found in 0.6% to 5.6% by routine necropsies and also is found one in. approximately every 500 operations in abdominal surgery.
Most masses of heterotopic pancreas in the stomach were encountered in the distal one third, usually at or within 5 or 6 cm of pylorus.
We have recently experienced a case of heterotopic pancreas on the body of stomach, that was found incidentally during on exploratory laparatomy under the suspicion of leiomyoma of stomach in patent of a 35-year-old female.
Wedge resection was done and she -was discharged with uneventable course.
